Klondike Comedy Showcase — Week 3

I’m participating in the Klondike Comedy Showcase, a comedy contest on Twitter sponsored by Klondike, running through July 23, 2012. Each week, a new topic is announced and funny entries (“tweets” with the #KCS hashtag) are accepted through­out the week on Twit­ter per­tain­ing to the topic. The sec­ond week has been com­pleted and another finalist was announced (SPOILER ALERT: once again, it wasn’t me).

The topic for the sec­ond week was “Your mom walks into a bar….” Here’s a list of my entries:

-My mom walks into a bar because it’s Bingo Night at the church and she has Alzheimer’s.

-My mom walked into a bar that offered free birthday drinks. It wasn’t her birthday, but she was sure it was somebody’s.

-Your mom walked into a bar seeking mental stimulation, but ended up getting drunk and going home with the losing sports trivia team.

Klondike Comedy Showcase — Week 2

I’m participating in the Klondike Comedy Showcase, a comedy contest on Twitter sponsored by Klondike, running through July 23, 2012. Each week, a new topic is announced and funny entries (“tweets” with the #KCS hash­tag) are accepted throughout the week on Twitter pertaining to the topic. The second week has been completed and another finalist was announced (SPOILER ALERT: it wasn’t me).

The topic for the second week was Stupid Things Overheard at Sporting Events. Here’s a list of my entries:

-I’m not sure, but I think if you drown in the swimming portion of the Ironman Triathlon, you’ll be disqualified.

-The speed of our Quidditch team has really increased since we switched to Swiffers.

-I bet more people would watch the Australian Open if they used ball bears–trained koala bears to retrieve tennis balls.

Klondike Comedy Showcase – Week 1

I’m participating in the Klondike Comedy Showcase, a comedy contest on Twitter sponsored by Klondike, running through July 23, 2012. Each week, a new topic is announced and funny entries (“tweets” with the #KCS hashtag) are accepted throughout the week on Twitter pertaining to the topic. The first week has been completed and a finalist announced (SPOILER ALERT: it wasn’t me).

The topic for the first week was old people and technology. Here’s a list of my entries:

-To protect my grandparents from losing their money to Internet scams, I convinced them to invest it in my secure e-mail stamp business. #KCS

-Granny thinks she’s a hacker because she smashed the computer w/ a hammer after catching Pa Googling photos of Hee Haw’s Barbi Benton. #KCS

-Grandpa said he’d give me a case of his homebrewed beer if I teach him how to use “the Googles” so he can Google how to make beer. #KCS
